Users of social networking sites adult age now increased to reach almost doubled in the last two years, according to a study of the literature media Ofcom's UK Adults. From the same source, it is known that more women using social networking sites than men, and nine out of ten users said that they have a profile on Facebook.
Media also reported that the number of Internet users aged 65 years has increased sharply since 2007, the figure 26 percent to 41 percent. The study showed 42 percent of women prefer to have profiles on social networking sites compared to 34 percent of men. While 39 percent of women use the Internet at least once a week to check their social networking profiles, rather than 28 percent of men.
Facebook social networking has increased 89 per cent of profiles, up from 62 percent in 2007. Only 49 percent of men surveyed Ofcom also said that they use the Internet to find news, 35 percent for sports updates, and 39 percent for entertainment.
